As Fort Ord anchor, CSUMB benefits the entire region

I attend many community events around the area, and I constantly meet people who are deeply interested in California State University, Monterey Bay and the redevelopment of Fort Ord. They ask about our students and our growth since we opened in 1995. I always highlight our ongoing stake in Fort Ord’s reuse and the benefits we provide as Monterey County’s only public four-year university. No 'shame' for athletics at my school

“Shame” was the word The Atlantic magazine chose to headline its October cover story on the excesses of big-time college sports. That definitely does not apply to athletics at California State University, Monterey Bay. As a member of the NCAA Division II President’s Council, I am confident that most other college and university presidents would say the same thing about their athletic programs. More>>
